1. What is EAD？
European Assessment Documents referred to as “EAD”）. It is the unified technical specification for building products. It was developed by the European Organization for Technical Assessment (EOTA) for situations where a product has not been fully incorporated into a unified European standard. EAD is the foundation for conducting ETA certification. Like coordinated standards, EAD is considered a unified technical specification.

The Technical Assessment Body (TAB) issues a European Technical Assessment based on the European Assessment Document (EAD) approved by the European Technical Assessment Group (EOTA).
ETA provides a means for building products that are not covered or fully covered by coordinated standards to obtain the CE mark. The legal basis for the ETA program is the European Building Product Regulations (No 305/2011/EU), particularly Articles 19 and 26, which have the level of European legislation and can be directly applied to member states.
