This European Standard identifies material independent performance characteristics that are applicable to windows (including roof windows, roof windows with external fire resistance and French windows), external pedestrian doorsets (including unframed glass doorsets, escape route doorsets) and screens.

本欧洲标准确定各材料的不同性能特点，适用于窗（包括天窗，有外部防火性能的天窗，屋顶窗），外部走道门（包括无框玻璃门，逃生通道门）和屏风。

欧盟官方已经规定，自2010年2月1日起，所有在欧洲市场销售的门窗产品，必须根据EN 14351-1进行CE认证并加贴CE标识。

一般情况，门窗产品CE认证必须由欧盟委员会认可的具备相关资质能力的指定公告机构（Notified Body），根据体系3进行操作。

根据EN 14351-1，门窗CE认证参考的测试项目：

1、  Water tightness（水密性）: EN1027

2、  Air permeability（气密性）: EN1026

3、  Resistance to wind load（抗风压）: EN12211

4、  Load-bearing capacity of safety devices（扣紧装置的安全性能）: EN 948
