We provide the framework for the European Technical Assessment (ETA) of construction products to ensure consistent product performance information throughout Europe. The EOTA network is the only platform which allows European manufacturers of innovative or non-standard construction products to bring their products to the European market with CE marking. The basis of the approach is the European Assessment Documents (EADs) developed in EOTA.

ETA certification process for fasteners
1、 Determine Product ETA Standards (European Evaluation Document)
SMART confirms that the product complies with the EU Building Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (CPR), which is a detailed technical document used to guide the product to meet the basic requirements of the directive.
2、 Determine the detailed requirements that the product should meet
A product is considered to meet the relevant basic requirements only when it meets the requirements of all applicable coordination standards. The application of coordinated standards is entirely voluntary, and you can also choose other ways to meet the corresponding basic requirements.
3、 Determine whether the product needs to be inspected by a notified body
Each instruction involved in your product has detailed regulations on whether third-party announcement agencies need to participate in the ETA review. These notified bodies are all authorized by the European Commission and have a detailed list in the archives of NANDO (New Method Directive notified bodies and designated bodies).
4、 Test the product and verify its compliance
Manufacturers are responsible for testing their products and checking their compliance with EU regulations (compliance assessment process). Risk assessment is the fundamental rule in the assessment process, and only after meeting the requirements of relevant EU coordination standards can you possibly meet the basic requirements of EU official regulations.
5、 Draft and save technical documents required by ETAG standards
Manufacturers must establish a European Assessment Document (EAD) for their products based on the requirements of the directive and the needs of risk assessment. If required by the relevant authorized department, the manufacturer must submit the technical documents and EC conformity declaration together for inspection.
6、 Attach the ETA logo to your product and make an EC conformity declaration
The ETA logo must be affixed to the product by the manufacturer or their authorized representative. The ETA logo must be clearly and permanently affixed to the product or its nameplate according to its standard design. If the notified body participates in product certification, the ETA mark must bear the notified body's announcement number. Manufacturers are obliged to draft an EC conformity declaration and sign it to prove that the product meets the ETA requirements.
After the above six steps, your products with CE and ETA marks can smoothly circulate in the European market.
